Ceri and Andy have been in the hospitality industry for the last 16 years in one capacity or another and in all that time have pooled a wealth of experience that they have put to good use here at the Shepherds Inn.

Both Ceri and Andy have a passion for customer service as well as for the quality of both the food and drink sides of the business. “We strive to use local produce as much as we can and cook all our dishes from fresh, this might mean a small wait at busy times but the overall consensus is that “it’s worth the wait!”

Andy is also passionate about real ales and as there are nearly 30 micro breweries in Cumbria now there is plenty to choose from. “We are members of the “Locale” scheme which means we endeavour to have at least one ale from a brewery within 30 miles of the pub, we are lucky as there are five or six closer than that, so out of the five beers available you’ll always find a couple of locally produced ones.

The Shepherds inn is a family pub and the Webster’s are very family orientated having three children of their own. “We welcome families and provide games and colouring books and pens for the Children. (Or the Adults!) We love our children to eat healthy meals and we encourage others to do the same by not having a set children’s menu. They are welcome to order half portions of most dishes off the main menu which does include sausage and mash, fish and chips and freshly baked Pizza so there should be something for even the most discerning child’s pallet! Our children even help waiting on sometimes, they love playing cafes!!
