I
think this our 4th visit but the first since Ceri and Andy took control. Pleasant relaxing atmosphere, friendly and helpful
staff and enjoyable food although I was gently reminded by Ceri when I said I would just go for the fish and chips that this
was more than 'just' fish and chips. She was of course was right, excellent piece of battered fish served with an
excellent salad. I have told all my Facebook friends that they should turn off at Penrith and head to the Shepherds herd preferably
after they have stopped on the way and visited Long Meg and her daughters.

Thank you for a fabulous night out! We visited with family (a party of 12) and had
a wonderful evening.

I have family in the Village and I always look forward to seeing them and visiting the Shepherds Inn. The food
and service has improved since the new owners have taken over. I always treat the grandchildren to a meal in the pub and they
enjoy the half-portions and playing on the village green afterwards.

We have visited the Shepherds Inn Melmerby when visiting
friends in the area. We always look forward to a Friday night with our friends in the pub and the locals always make us feel
welcome. As a driving instructor, I particularly look forward to the scenic drive along the A686 and a rewarding coffee and
a bite to eat at the Shepherds Inn Melmerby is always a welcome treat.

I have visited the Shepherds a few times and I must say that I have always
had a good pint and plenty of 'crack' with the locals. I live in Merseyside, but look forward to my visits to Melmerby.
The village is great and the pub has a friendly atmosphere.

We visited the Shepherd's on Saturday for my mother’s birthday.
We are regular visitors and are pleased to see it has changed hands to such friendly owners and staff. The food was of very
good quality and ample! The coffee, a big issue for me personally was excellent as well. We will be back with a smile and
without reservation.

We have been visiting the Shepherds Inn in Melmerby for more than ten years
and have seen it change hands a few times. More recently, we were very pleased to meet the new owners and see that the pub
is back in good hands. The food was very nice, the service and price was exceptional. We will be back soon.

This is a lovely large pub with a fine balcony section. By the roaring fire,
there are arm chairs and sofas, where an excellent coffee and a read of the papers make you just want to sit and wait till
lunch time. The staff all look very smart in their black uniforms and the people who served us were really friendly including
the owner. Our lunch was chosen from a big list of local dishes and there was lot of food for the money. The prices were low
for such a smart pub in a picture postcard village. It has good local beers and a decent wine list. It’s worth a trip
out and we will go again when we are passing.
